Can someone help me with the LG cosmos?

i was just holding my phone and then the screen went black. i slid it open and the QWERTY keyboard was still lit up, but the number pad and the screen were completely dark. i tried charging it and taking out the battery, but that didn't work. also, i still feel a vibration when i receive a text, but since the screens dark, i can't view it. i am taking it to the verizon store today but before i go i was wondering if there's anyway to fix it at home. please help!
